A Tee With a Purpose

German-based sustainable clothing company, hessnatur, is a pioneer in environmentally responsible fashion, having been producing organic and natural clothing for 32 years. They are also committed to social causes and have teamed up with Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus, working together to improve social standards and living conditions in Bangladesh by implementing organic manufacturing processes within the city.

hessnatur is selling this limited edition organic tee ($20) designed by their Creative Director, Miguel Adrover to benefit The Grameen Foundation, founded by Dr. Yunus. The tees "will be made by Grameen Knitwear in Bangladesh. With every tee produced, hessnatur guarantees a 40% bonus over fair purchase price." 25% from the sale of each shirt will go to the organization's rural education project.

I've found the tee to be a great conversation starter. There's so much to say- from the simple, beautiful design of the shirt (I have received many compliments when wearing it) to the efforts it represents.
